Tony Sisk
and Okay, now we're set up.

00:07.19
Tony Sisk
All right. Vans, where'd you get that hat?

00:12.81
Sentfrmheaven
Uh, got it from GameStop. This love-hate relationship with GameStop is like, I hate how they do business, but I love the cool things that they have.

00:21.43
Tony Sisk
it was like ah just one of their like toy props that they sell or collectibles.

00:28.60
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah, because they have, like, the all-red one with the traditional, uh, Mario. Then they have the green one with Luigi. They have an all-white one with Mario. And, uh,

00:40.38
Sentfrmheaven
I think they have one more that I've seen. So I think they have a total like four of these.

00:46.01
Tony Sisk
It actually looks pretty cool. I think you should wear it to work.

00:49.49
Sentfrmheaven
yeah,

00:52.35
Tony Sisk
I mean, is there something against wearing a hat with big ah koham ah googly eyes on it?

01:00.33
Sentfrmheaven
you got the googly eyes.

01:04.32
Tony Sisk
All right. Cool. Awesome. so we are going to be talking about the Switch 2 that releases on Thursday.

01:17.77
Tony Sisk
Have you had a chance to take a look at this thing?

01:22.40
Sentfrmheaven
Oh, I have and it's funny because the more I look at it, it's like, do I want it because it's cool or do I want it because it's actually something that i'm play?

01:37.45
Tony Sisk
Right, yeah, I'm on the same boat. Like, it's the ah the newest... Newest thing. hottest thing, I guess.

01:48.03
Tony Sisk
I never had a Switch 1. but daughter i got i got one for my daughter when they first came out. and that seems like forever ago. I guess it's been 10 years almost since ah since the Switch first appeared and replaced the DS system, right?

02:05.48
Tony Sisk
And I love the DS system. But I never got around to getting a Switch system. ah My daughter loves it, though. But she and when they announced the pre-orders for this a few months ago, she's like, oh, you know, I'm going to pre-order. I don't know if she actually did or not.

02:22.26
Tony Sisk
Because one, she doesn't make a lot of money in her in her field. And two, she doesn't have a lot of money. So um whether or not she actually got around to doing that, I'll have to ask her.

02:34.19
Tony Sisk
But it definitely looks pretty cool. It's a little bit bigger than the original Switch. As far as the display is a little bit bigger, right? And it runs 4K

02:48.79
Tony Sisk
a video. and But the price is coming in at, what, $450? $450.

02:55.80
Sentfrmheaven
Uh, yes, it's coming in at $4.50 because I got my trusty notes. So if you all hear this before it drops, get the bundle because Mario, I believe, is $70 by itself.

03:09.59
Sentfrmheaven
So you can go $4.50 for just the console or you can go $500, which includes Mario. So I'm like for that, you know, extra $50 or whatever like that, I mean, you're saving $20 on a game. So, you know.

03:24.16
Tony Sisk
Right, yeah, I think that's an important aspect though that needs to be when you're talking about the new Switch 2, you have to talk about the ah the game and that's available on release.

03:36.15
Tony Sisk
They have quite a few games that are coming out on Thursday, June 4th, but the the primary flagship game that's coming is the new Mario, what's it called?

03:53.69
Sentfrmheaven
ah It is Mario Kart World.

03:54.37
Tony Sisk
Mario Kart.

03:57.42
Tony Sisk
Mario Kart World.

03:59.33
Sentfrmheaven
Speaking of that, um total games that's going to be available on launch is 24. Yes. ah

04:05.88
Tony Sisk
OK, OK. So you have a lot of you did do your homework.

04:10.01
Sentfrmheaven
yeah

04:10.42
Tony Sisk
So ah you you have. you have some third-party games which represent a um a pretty good size of the uh game is being released you've got some uh older games with like uh zelda games right breath of a wow and tears of the kingdom are both um going to be available um with the new switch too

04:28.01
Sentfrmheaven
Yes.

04:36.43
Tony Sisk
um The third party game that's most interesting and we were having a discussion about it was Cyberpunk 2077. What's that? No.

04:46.01
Sentfrmheaven
Yes. So you want know what's interesting about that?

04:49.71
Tony Sisk
what's up

04:50.00
Sentfrmheaven
So um have you heard about the the game key cards?

04:56.94
Tony Sisk
no

04:58.08
Sentfrmheaven
Okay, so with, so, um, oh, well, back what were about with the screen. So the screen is, I believe it's the biggest handheld screen that they have out now. That's, uh, Steam Deck, uh, Nintendo One, Nintendo Switch One, the OLED, all that, like, it has the biggest screen right now.

05:17.77
Sentfrmheaven
And some people were up upset, like, well, it doesn't have the OLED screen, but what they've shown is brighter than the OLED screen. It's clear and stuff like that, but, um, So with the game key cards like you're actually like so you know how um you might buy Fortnite and like it doesn't have a physical game is actually like a paper card with a code in it.

05:40.12
Tony Sisk
Right.

05:40.40
Sentfrmheaven
So with that is the code is going to be on that cartridge so once you put it in its act like the Xbox and PlayStation where you have to actually download the game now once you download the game.

05:51.26
Sentfrmheaven
You can play it, you know, like whenever, whatever, like that. Now, all first party games are going to be complete games. Now, Cyberpunk is a third party game, but Cyberpunk is probably going to be one of the few out the gate that gives you the entire game. So you don't have to go to GameStop to get something, Best Buy to get something, Walmart. It's going to be the complete skins, like 100% completion you can do on Cyberpunk day one.

06:16.82
Tony Sisk
Cool. Yeah.

06:17.61
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah, so, yeah, then also too with the key card, as long as you have that physical card, then you can play um any of the Switch consoles. So, the Switch 2, Switch 1, and Switch OLED, as long as you have the physical key card, then you can play on all three consoles.

06:32.54
Tony Sisk
Okay. That's cool. um Yeah. I mean, the the new the new system ah we think we were talking about before there there's not a lot of review versions of the console out in the wild right now for reviewers so we're kind of going in blind with the true like capabilities of the machine it's like it's got you know custom nvidia uh chips and stuff like that but

07:03.58
Tony Sisk
I don't think anybody really knows like what the full capabilities of machine is. So ah we're going to see like on Thursday, I'm sure a lot of stuff dropping in real time as people are playing and and trying to figure out exactly ah what they can play, how things play.

07:25.59
Tony Sisk
and the good and the bad about the systems so i would say you know normally you'd want to wait until

07:37.95
Tony Sisk
the game's of the system's been in a while little bit before you might want to pop your money down but the way the the the world economy is working right now and the tariffs and stuff, the 450 price tag may, may actually be the cheapest that you're ever going to get this system.

07:53.04
Tony Sisk
So it's, so you're putting it out there. It's totally up to you.

08:01.12
Tony Sisk
What to take that into consideration? Like, okay, if I wait, there could be, you know, a high probability that the price goes up. But the other side of that is also, this is a Nintendo system, super popular.

08:16.96
Tony Sisk
had You had to have pre-order in. So like deciding now I'm going to get one on launch day is not really going to work for you. However, I think Target did say that they might have a limited stock of these systems available on launch day.

08:34.41
Tony Sisk
but Limited is what?

08:34.69
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah.

08:35.33
Tony Sisk
One one per store?

08:36.72
Sentfrmheaven
Right. Right. Because speaking of that, I did call GameStop and a few of them around the area. that are They're going to have, um believe GameStop open up 11 o'clock, but at 3 o'clock, they are going to be selling the you know, the few that they have, you know, because I asked, I said, are y'all going to have ones outside of the pre-order? They say yes.

08:59.93
Sentfrmheaven
At 3 o'clock afternoon, you'll be able to get them, a you know, if you beat the line.

09:06.94
Tony Sisk
i can't I can't wait to see.

09:06.96
Sentfrmheaven
So I don't know what time people are going to be lining up.

09:08.42
Tony Sisk
It's like 1 to 15. You don't see as much anymore, but people camping out. You used to see it all time, but people camping out at the GameStop for the system. Now, we did that for the PS5s, right?

09:20.54
Tony Sisk
right ah We didn't camp out.

09:20.83
Sentfrmheaven
Right, right.

09:22.54
Tony Sisk
We just got there really, really early, and it worked out amazingly.

09:25.00
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

09:28.89
Tony Sisk
Yeah.

09:30.53
Sentfrmheaven
Right. Because I mean, like, like before we, you know, get into some goodies, um this is the lineup. These are the games that, ah so it's going to be 24 games, but I don't have 24 on the list.

09:42.13
Sentfrmheaven
I just have um what I feel like are the the attention grabbers, the standouts.

09:45.93
Tony Sisk
Standouts. All right.

09:48.16
Sentfrmheaven
So we got, ahead, go ahead.

09:48.43
Tony Sisk
That's.

09:51.51
Tony Sisk
No, go us I was going to say this. Let's hear the list.

09:54.80
Sentfrmheaven
Alright, we got Cyberpunk 2077. We got a Hitman, a World of Assassination, Hogwarts Legacy, as you mentioned before, Legend of Zelda, Breath of a Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Kart World,

10:12.53
Sentfrmheaven
um Tetris 2S, don't know what that is. ah sonic ah Sonic Shadows Split Fiction Civilization 7.

10:24.16
Sentfrmheaven
And this is interesting. They're going to have Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. Now, that is supposed to be like, um you know, like the welcome to the Nintendo Switch.

10:35.22
Sentfrmheaven
go This is supposed to be the...

10:37.52
Tony Sisk
I've seen this. I've seen this.

10:39.12
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah.

10:39.85
Tony Sisk
This is, is it like $25?

10:40.02
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah.

10:43.05
Sentfrmheaven
Yes. Yes.

10:44.66
Tony Sisk
It's like $25 to pay for ah ah program that just walks you through system.

10:44.96
Sentfrmheaven
You have to pay for this.

10:52.29
Tony Sisk
And like, oh, this is the button for the chat. This is where you hook up your camera. This is how to attach and and release your magnetic ah controllers.

11:06.53
Tony Sisk
I'm like, why is there a charge for that?

11:07.11
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

11:10.36
Tony Sisk
That should be become, that's like,

11:13.71
Tony Sisk
that That's like getting charged for the assembly manual that comes in with your piece of furniture, right?

11:20.11
Sentfrmheaven
Right. Right. Like, hey, I can save this piece of furniture with extra $50 I can throw in the manual. You like, it don't come with it?

11:27.54
Tony Sisk
What?

11:28.37
Sentfrmheaven
Like, no, it doesn't come with it. But yeah, that was surprising. Like, like I said, this is your demo game to show you all the things that goes with your Switch and you're charging me for this.

11:40.46
Sentfrmheaven
Like, you already jacked up the price of the console. You already jacked up the price of the games. And, you know, it's like, you probably want me to have ah subscription for your online stuff.

11:52.14
Sentfrmheaven
And you're charging me for the manual.

11:54.15
Tony Sisk
Where's Jaime at? He would have a field day with this one.

11:56.95
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

11:57.19
Tony Sisk
What else we got?

12:00.24
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

12:00.60
Tony Sisk
it's ah

12:00.72
Sentfrmheaven
I'm like.

12:02.33
Tony Sisk
what else we got

12:04.11
Sentfrmheaven
oh um Hitman, I put on the list because i feel like, you know, ah Hitman has has a lot of. a nostalgia like i feel like you know that's one of the games where it's always going to be around people kind of look forward to it but uh but yeah um of course you got mario kart now uh legend of zelda breath of the wild and tears of kingdom they're going to have uh i believe it's like um if you want like the upgraded uh version of it um i think it might come with um

12:39.03
Sentfrmheaven
a DLC, it may not, but it's it's literally just like, know, updated graphics and stuff. Now, some games will come with DLC, it come with the graphics and stuff, but it's $20, you know, so it's almost like, um you know, how PlayStation does say, hey, if you already bought the game, then we're only going charge you a couple dollars for the upgrade and stuff like that.

12:57.69
Sentfrmheaven
But, you know,

12:58.18
Tony Sisk
Yeah.

13:00.96
Tony Sisk
Well, for somebody like me, say, for example, I never owned a Switch. If I were to buy the Switch 2 and I you know missed out on Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom,

13:15.75
Tony Sisk
I would obviously want to buy, i have the access the ability to buy those two games that are specifically upgraded for the Switch 2, right? So, I mean, what are they, like $70, $80?

13:29.07
Tony Sisk
Are all Switch games basically?

13:32.00
Sentfrmheaven
uh yes um they well the base price is like 70 like like that's like the base price and then it's like um what else with it uh oh so

13:34.36
Tony Sisk
Is that the base price?

13:48.70
Sentfrmheaven
The physical copy is going to be a little bit more. Like if you go to some websites, it's like, you know, like 69 for this game, but then it's like a plus $3.50 for the physical copy.

14:01.06
Sentfrmheaven
So they are charging more for physical copies than they are digital copies.

14:05.73
Tony Sisk
Got you. So go ahead.

14:07.15
Sentfrmheaven
Oh, no, no, go ahead, go, go, go.

14:10.03
Tony Sisk
Now I was going to ask you, so the list that you have of games, how many new games that are specifically made for the Switch 2 are on that list?

14:21.88
Sentfrmheaven
Um, like, uh, like first party exclusives.

14:27.26
Tony Sisk
Basically.

14:28.38
Sentfrmheaven
Uh, just more, I want to say just Mario Kart World.

14:31.12
Tony Sisk
So Mario Kart. So it's releasing with one specifically specific game that's made specifically for Switch 2.

14:38.49
Sentfrmheaven
Yes, everything else is either coming out later this month or coming out in July.

14:39.08
Tony Sisk
Okay.

14:43.60
Tony Sisk
Okay. So in July, I think ah they have a big release, Donkey Kong Bonanza.

14:49.42
Sentfrmheaven
Yes, Donkey Kong Bonanza, yep.

14:50.75
Tony Sisk
That's another. So obviously, and you've done if you're you're diving into the making a purchase for this, even though 25 sounds a lot, like the the actual number of games that are like really fully benefiting from the upgrade in tech.

15:08.58
Tony Sisk
um Right now we're just looking at one and maybe two with better frame rates. I'm assuming for tears, uh, kingdom and the the two Zelda games. so I'm assuming that they'll have better frame rates, better graphics with the upgrades.

15:24.61
Tony Sisk
So that's the premium way to play those two games, right? Would be on a Switch 2.

15:28.80
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

15:30.00
Tony Sisk
ah But, and this is the one thing I do kind of miss out on, um not having a Switch, is I've missed out on 10 years of all the Nintendo titles.

15:45.46
Tony Sisk
And I know that there will be just a flood of games coming from the Tino for their new system. You know, ah just like any system you, it starts as a trickle, then it turns into a stream within then a river, you know, and then eventually, you know, like you're popping that cap off the fire hydrant and you can't, you can't ah consume as much as they're going to be giving you. So

16:09.70
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

16:10.23
Tony Sisk
ah I like the idea of being on the ground floor of that, but again, you know, that's $450 investment. um

16:19.42
Tony Sisk
So what do you, what are your thoughts? What, ah if there was something that really enticed you to, to buy this, what would it be?

16:30.36
Sentfrmheaven
oh Actually, a what you just said, because a question that came to me as you were making a good point is. did Did they do it better than Xbox and PlayStation?

16:45.54
Sentfrmheaven
Because when Xbox and PlayStation dropped within 2022, and it's almost like we had to wait for games to catch up with the software where... Nintendo was coming out with one game, you know, like that's, you know, built for the system and everything else. You get upgrades and stuff for it. But then, like you said, in less than, you know, not two, three years later, but in less than a month and next month, they're going to flood you with games that, you know, that are running 4K, that are running, because mind you, it has the ability to run 120 hertz.

17:17.63
Sentfrmheaven
You know, so it's like, so they're giving us the technology and the games go with it right off the gate. Like I didn't have to wait, you know, years. So I mean, like that's that in itself would be enticing, you know, especially if if if I'm a big fan of Nintendo.

17:30.79
Tony Sisk
Right. Now, i think I think it's fair to to say that um when when you're thinking about purchasing this,

17:42.80
Tony Sisk
You almost have to. I'm like, almost i'm like why I don't know why you would purchase this and not purchase this game. Why is Mario Kart a world, right? Now, Mario Kart World is the newest iteration of Mario Kart.

17:58.98
Tony Sisk
um But it's an open world. It's like 32 tracks. tracks And you can drive on interstates or highways between the tracks and then start a race on a track as you drive into the stadium or whatever.

18:20.50
Tony Sisk
um So the open world aspect is... is pretty new because i i remember most mario uh car games it's just like circuits right that you're racing and then you have like so many tracks within a grand prix or something like that and you you do the races and stuff like that so this is all introducing like an open world where you can do some exploring and do some like uh achievements and add stuff to your character and your cars um

18:32.03
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

18:51.96
Tony Sisk
I mean, don't know how it's going to work, but um the Grand Prix aspect of if going understand, is you it's going to have 24 racers, right, that start race, and then there'll be checkpoints, and the bottom four in the race will be eliminated from the race as you hit hit each checkpoint and until you get down to the last four racers, you know, and that's how they'll do it.

19:05.82
Sentfrmheaven
Right. Right.

19:18.69
Tony Sisk
That's why twenty four race 24 players in a Mario Kart game. I'm just thinking of all the bananas and the turtle shells and the lightning bolts and stuff.

19:30.85
Tony Sisk
How crazy that could have gotten.

19:31.04
Sentfrmheaven
right

19:32.01
Tony Sisk
But they they seem to have come up with a pretty good scheme. ah How to make it ah not so chaotic that you you basically can't play. But i'm I'm really intrigued. I really want to play Mario Kart.

19:46.21
Tony Sisk
And for me to do that, would need a Switch too.

19:48.76
Sentfrmheaven
her Right.

19:49.06
Tony Sisk
So, like... I think the Mario Kart...

19:55.00
Tony Sisk
will draw I mean, that's that's the driving force. like I think most people say, I can maybe wait a little bit on the Switch too. But I think when you start getting the reviews and people you know talking about Mario Kart, that's going to really drive the sales.

20:11.16
Tony Sisk
yeah this is Now, this is the one hook, man. They put this hook, I saw this, in Mario Kart. So you're Call of player, right? Yeah. cal duty player right

20:22.08
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

20:23.89
Tony Sisk
So when you kill somebody in Call Duty, ah you there's like a two-second window there where you can hear the reaction of the player you killed, right?

20:40.99
Tony Sisk
That's funny, right?

20:41.44
Sentfrmheaven
Right. It is.

20:46.49
Tony Sisk
They've implemented that into Mario Kart.

20:50.96
Tony Sisk
So... This is how they did it. So there's a camera on that. I don't know if there's a camera built into the switch or if it's an accessory. I'm thinking it's a camera built into the switch.

21:05.04
Tony Sisk
But

21:08.58
Tony Sisk
what you can do is it will map your face, right? So it know dot identifies your face. Then it will take your face and ah apply it to the game via whatever system they're using.

21:26.99
Tony Sisk
But when you hit somebody, like hit them with a shell or whatever, you can see their face above their car for that instant and see their reaction. They actually implemented that into Mario Kart.

21:44.24
Tony Sisk
And I thought that was hilarious that that that's an aspect and in a Nintendo game that they stole from Call of Duty.

21:44.35
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah, that's

21:49.65
Sentfrmheaven
it.

21:51.38
Tony Sisk
that oh you know, the multiplayer, competitive.

21:53.47
Sentfrmheaven
Get it?

21:55.76
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah, and is it is pretty funny.

21:55.78
Tony Sisk
You know, i can imagine like people throwing their hands up in the air, whatever, when you when you knock them out right before they cross the finish line.

22:03.93
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

22:04.05
Tony Sisk
Or the, oh, I'm just thinking like, you know usually like you're battling out for that finish line, but like now that they've introduced these qualifying gates in the race, like every one of them is going to be a battle for the finish line.

22:23.37
Tony Sisk
It's just been crazy. so

22:25.84
Sentfrmheaven
right

22:25.93
Tony Sisk
um just I'm just thinking that Mario Kart is just going to be phenomenal and it's going to drive ah everybody to have to have this game and the only way they can play it is by

22:27.64
Sentfrmheaven
but

22:37.68
Tony Sisk
You know, it's a system-selling game, which is what you want, especially when you're introducing a new system.

22:46.50
Sentfrmheaven
right right and um so they actually have two types of cameras they have like a standalone camera that you know you can put by your tv or whatever and that's gonna be like $55 and that's gonna be able to shoot a 1080p.

22:59.12
Sentfrmheaven
um But like you said, ah what we don't know about the camera is like how does it shoot in low light, you know, um because it's supposed to like, you know, like if you're sitting, let's say, couch or tv is supposed to pull you in close so they don't know like you know the further away then they try to blows it up is it gonna be distorted but um they do have a second camera that is like uh 35 dollars and what's good about this one is you can detach it from its base and put it in the top of your console so you can play handheld you know in that way you know you have it like right there but it's in 480 it's in 40p and we're like 40p like

23:39.16
Sentfrmheaven
Like, man, like, you know, like, and it's only, you know, $15 difference. I'm like, yeah, they could have did it in the 7, in 720. and the seven twenty But, um But, yeah, I mean, Nintendo always gets it right when they have a game at launch. As far as, like, you know, bundling with the system, I don't think there's ever been a game that they bundled with a console and it's like, oh, I don't want that game.

24:00.21
Sentfrmheaven
You know, but, ah but but but yeah, Mario Kart has definitely been, you know, like a big seller, you know, from ah day one and then Mario Party. So, i think Mario Party comes out, like, ah nets money ah next month, ah Mario Party Jamboree.

24:14.29
Sentfrmheaven
But, yeah, I mean, like, I love Mario Kart. Like, that was one of the first games, you know, I put on my Steam Deck, you know, like, a Mario Kart Double Dash, you know, so, I mean, I'm with it, you know, like, see somebody face ah you crying.

24:23.90
Tony Sisk
Right? Yep. Yep.

24:32.87
Tony Sisk
I think that's going to be so hilarious. It's going to be hilarious. like you know I don't know if they run tournaments and stuff with it, but it'll be hilarious.

24:42.69
Sentfrmheaven
Right. So I think they will. I think they will run tournaments. um One thing, speaking of the games, that ah I failed to mention is, so no matter ah say no matter how you buy the game, the game is essentially digital.

25:01.31
Sentfrmheaven
So somebody had mentioned that I guess they're almost going back to the Nintendo DS days. So if you buy a game, it's crazy because if you buy a game,

25:12.60
Sentfrmheaven
But mind you, you only getting in the key to the game and you're like, you know, you're you're owning it digitally.

25:19.34
Tony Sisk
right Right It's the ah the the the hidden evils of digital only I think PlayStation kind of did that with the

25:19.35
Sentfrmheaven
But so they so they can do anything with the store. You know, i think they were saying like, you know, if you don't download the game, like when they shut down the Wii U store and like the DS store, if you didn't download that game, then you don't have it.

25:34.10
Sentfrmheaven
And I was like, o oh, oh, yeah.

25:41.71
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

25:45.29
Tony Sisk
with their digital stores for their handheld systems.

25:50.29
Sentfrmheaven
Mm, yes, Steve.

25:50.57
Tony Sisk
They just came out and said, oh, you know, we're closing the store. So if you don't have your games downloaded, yeah you're out of luck.

25:53.80
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah.

25:58.21
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

25:58.52
Tony Sisk
All

25:59.15
Sentfrmheaven
And then, so so so definitely as a consumer, you know, like said, you're paying you know anywhere from $50 to $80 a game. That's definitely going to dictate what I buy because I have to think of the longevity, you know, like of that game.

26:11.75
Sentfrmheaven
Because um like you said, if they cut it off, then I'm like, well, I can't even trade it in.

26:12.23
Tony Sisk
right.

26:14.65
Tony Sisk
again Again, that's why physical is always better.

26:23.13
Tony Sisk
But the problem with like most most games nowadays, you know and we harp on about this a lot, is like even when you have the physical disc, there's always an update. right Very few games are self-contained in the the original disc.

26:39.72
Tony Sisk
There's always an update. um and Nintendo has always been the best at having a game that to required no update. Like it was a completely finished product.

26:50.28
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

26:53.75
Tony Sisk
But no, they've kind of gone away from the physical and gone into the digital realm. so So even them, we're not we're not reaching that that sort of game development when seeing it all the way through to complete finished product that's just something in that in the history history books of video game development which is unfortunate but um i think uh for you and i when we look at the steam deck uh and the and the switch you know we're steam deck owners we're

27:22.84
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

27:36.70
Tony Sisk
We're proud owners of the Steam Deck, the original versions that when it first came out. um Now, we have, like you said, we emulated the Mario Kart game onto our Steam Decks and stuff like that.

27:49.32
Sentfrmheaven
daha

27:49.32
Tony Sisk
And as a Steam Deck owner, I'm still looking at the Switch 2 and going, man, I would like that just because it has those original IPs that it was just... it's It's super hard to get around, you know, getting those games um on a Steam Deck.

28:09.63
Tony Sisk
So you basically have to have a Switch. so But I think that's really the only thing that kind of stands out when it comes to comparing it to like a Steam Deck. You know, I have access to a bunch of different PC games like Cyberpunk, you know, we've had Cyberpunk on Steam Deck.

28:28.77
Tony Sisk
So that's nothing new for us. So the third party games coming to Switch, that's new for them. So there is this like question, like, am I really getting something worth $450?

28:46.66
Tony Sisk
But again, Mario Kart, I don't have Mario Kart on the Steam Deck, the newest. So, and that's, that's, man, see, it's always about the software.

28:51.98
Sentfrmheaven
Right, right.

28:56.04
Tony Sisk
It's always about the software. It's all the, all the bells and whistles and and stuff that these systems come with. Um,

29:06.37
Tony Sisk
the number one thing is always the software. So, you know,

29:13.82
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah, because people were like, you know, like um some people were like, okay, well, You know, we're talking about the battery life, but the battery life was like 2.5 to 6.5 hours. And of course, it just depends on what you're doing and, you know ah you know, like what you're playing and stuff like that.

29:32.96
Sentfrmheaven
And I mean like um they had some comparisons you know with the Steam Deck like said a bigger screen than the Steam Deck. um But the Steam Deck is i feel like it's still in a league like you said kind of like in league of its own because of everything that you can do with it especially once you start.

29:50.58
Sentfrmheaven
Really hooking the keyboard and mouse up to it and you know you can use it as like a PC and stuff like that where you know the switches is you know like if I'm just you know chilling I can take it out whatever like that and you know like it's it's really a A um I think they're going to do well. We'll open it up to third party games.

30:09.90
Sentfrmheaven
Uh, but you know, like, uh, the games that, you know, the, the flagship games, I believe is going to carry. And I mean, like once they, well, like I said, once people start getting their hands on it and they start showing like different aspects of it, cause I mean, like, um, you know, like even, even the way that they put in the game chat, you know, like develop game chat, like that's going to be different, you know?

30:34.26
Sentfrmheaven
um Like, I don't know if you heard about the game chat, but the game chat is actually built in on the Switch itself. So the only kind of downside is, is that it's, you know, like if you're back and it's by the TV, but I have seen some videos where it's like, ah it's supposed to kind of like, you know, be able to still pick up your voice no matter what's going on.

30:43.10
Tony Sisk
Right.

30:58.49
Sentfrmheaven
ah as far as like um parents and kids, you can actually monitor like who your kids been talking to, how long they can, ah I mean, how long they've been talking to that person, but it's going to ask you permission on a kid's account every time they want to chat with somebody and then you can label it. So if your kid knows three Jasons or three Melissa's whatever, like, you know, you can actually put an in there Melissa from football, Melissa from soccer. So you can appreciate who that, you know, a child is talking to and stuff like that. And I like that.

31:26.47
Sentfrmheaven
that they ask you permission every time it is not just a one-time thing you know

31:29.97
Tony Sisk
Right, yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's ah those the one time you don't ask. That's the one time that they're doing something they're supposed to be doing.

31:40.44
Sentfrmheaven
man thousand a thousand thousand thousand percent you know you know and it's like another feature of the game chat is um you know is so the game chat essentially works as a Nintendo party so you can talk to a Friends that's not even on the same game as you and you can share your screen you know So and everybody can share their screen so you can see what the other person is not doing whatever like that So if ah you know yeah, so if you're if you're playing you know Mario Kart and you need help and you you know say hey I'm sure my screen with you and you're not gonna walk you through it with a like that's a that's pretty cool so

32:08.58
Tony Sisk
okay

32:17.17
Tony Sisk
yeah so that was a that was a thing that came with the ps5 eventually we we played around with that quite a bit uh early on it's a cool feature it really is a cool feature i'm surprised we don't do it more often uh you know five years on from the release of that system um

32:23.72
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah, yo we did. Yeah, we did.

32:32.21
Sentfrmheaven
All right.

32:39.03
Tony Sisk
Now, one of the things ah I was really interested in was the Joy-Cons. One, they're magnetic. ah And apparently, ah the magnetism is pretty strong. So, like, you really have to exert effort to ah disconnect them.

32:58.75
Tony Sisk
Apparently, and there's a switch on the back that makes it easier.

32:58.78
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

33:01.35
Tony Sisk
i don't know it works. It's like...

33:05.82
Tony Sisk
How it works to like demagnetize them. I don't know, like maybe it blocks them somehow. I have no idea. But um so that's new with the Joy-Cons. It has the see chat button on one of the Joy-Cons. That's how it does the chat feature you're talking about.

33:22.96
Tony Sisk
And two, now this is what's really cool. And you said one of the release games was Civilization 7, right? Yeah. Now, Civilization 7, I love Civ, Civ 6 PlayStation.

33:36.76
Tony Sisk
It's playable with controller, ah but it's really a PC game, right? It's meant for mouse. So what's really cool about the new Switch 2 is you can literally take one of the Joy-Cons and push it ah place it down onto a service, and it can be almost any service.

33:59.79
Tony Sisk
and It turns into a mouse. ah That's really really cool. So and another thing that's important to note is the switch to has built-in kickstand right?

34:11.35
Tony Sisk
um So you can just set it up and then if you want to play like Civ 7 that's really more of a PC game that works better with a mouse. Well the joy-con You can literally put it on your leg and use it like a mouse.

34:27.76
Tony Sisk
I think that's really cool. And it's so built in, we'll say, that you can switch between the stick joystick controller and mouse controller on the fly.

34:42.92
Tony Sisk
Right? So it's like, it's so intuitive in that in that way with the controller scheme. So I think that's a really, really cool feature because there's a lot of games that are really more mouse-driven games.

34:56.30
Tony Sisk
that they adapt over for console and they don't they're a little bit more cumbersome like i don't know if you ever played uh uh x-com it's you know you can play it on a playstation and it works but it's so much easier with a mouse right and there's a lot of games that way like xbox has you know a bunch of the remade uh age of mythology and um age of empires and stuff those are strategy based games

35:15.62
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

35:24.50
Tony Sisk
which involves a lot of clicking and a lot of trying to manipulate a lot of ah smaller characters to go do something. It's difficult with controller.

35:37.25
Tony Sisk
um But with this, it makes it super simple. I'm like, that's almost a selling point for me, just because like ah it has that.

35:47.71
Tony Sisk
ah At the same time, you a Steam Deck, has the D-pads that work like a mouse and use your finger. it's does It doesn't work as great, but you can always, you can hook up a Bluetooth mouse, you can hook up a wire wired mouse, whatever.

36:03.54
Tony Sisk
and that just requires, you know, to carry an extra item. But the fact that this is actually built into the controllers that come with the system that you're going be using all time, that's really cool idea.

36:20.32
Sentfrmheaven
yeah um Yeah, because that last point, what you said, that's what I was thinking about. Because with the PlayStation, they're like, oh, well, you know like ah sometimes with the chat, you can you know use the you know use the pad with your finger. And I'm just like, it doesn't like, I don't like it it. then I was going through my Steam Deck today, actually, and you know I'm trying to use the pad. And then it's you got to make sure you push it. and then when you push it, you got to make sure you're not rolling it or it's going move. But yeah, they they really did a good job.

36:50.06
Sentfrmheaven
about um about how they uh you know like you said turn the joycon into a mouse um people are wondering i guess like depending on like you saying uh because actually that was one of the biggest seller points of the mouse was civilization uh seven you know im saying like you know how you got to move different things to like that and they show the gameplay and like you know moving it in with the um the joy-con now um and then the buttons the uh the like left and right bumpers i believe they're metal so they actually did a real good job because of the wear and tear you know like people clicking and stuff so ah some people they're kind of like wondering like how um hand fatigue is going to play a part in that um you know but uh and what's interesting is uh i read in the comments they were saying that um

37:38.92
Sentfrmheaven
I didn't know you know serious gamers you know lift the weights. and it was like They do the light they like lift weights for their hands and their wrists and their shoulders because it makes a you know you know like i guess like the

37:49.53
Tony Sisk
Right. Yeah. Yeah.

37:53.62
Sentfrmheaven
um and fatigue isn't isn't as as bad and i was like let and ill bridge probably like 50 comments, you know, like, yeah, like, you know, and I was like, wow, I didn't know that was a thing.

38:04.68
Sentfrmheaven
I need to go lift some weights, you know, because like, especially like around like my thumb and like like the the meat part of my thumb, like that hurts.

38:06.56
Tony Sisk
right

38:12.28
Sentfrmheaven
I said, well, I guess I got weak thumbs. did you go

38:14.60
Tony Sisk
yeah

38:15.63
Sentfrmheaven
I need to go do finger-tail push-ups right now, you know.

38:20.47
Sentfrmheaven
Oh, but yeah, but it but that was um ah was a great a great design. um And another point people brought up is like, We were talking about the camera. So the number one game console camera was a Kinect. The first Kinect. It sold 35 million copies.

38:37.47
Tony Sisk
Mm-hmm.

38:37.97
Sentfrmheaven
via one of the but One of the biggest ones that jumped off was the PlayStation 2. PlayStation 2, I think, sold like 10 million. And then ah the PlayStation 3 camera sold... ah um 15 million and that in that camera they use like hand-in-hand with the vr so it was like uh they sold 15 million of the camera then they sold 15 million of the ah vr so uh there so i guess like people like uh kind of seeing like how's the camera gonna hold up because like gaming with the camera like is like is that really a thing besides streaming so they're like you know we'll see how how how that kind of like jumps or doesn't jump or whatever like that

39:20.04
Tony Sisk
right and that comes with like what we we're talking about with cyberpunk 27 7 being one of the release games one of its control schemes is move right where you it's like the camera recognizes your you standing up there and you're playing what with the controllers like move controllers on playstation i'm like

39:32.05
Sentfrmheaven
Interesting. Okay, yeah.

39:42.14
Tony Sisk
I mean, who wants to play Cyberpunk that way? But I don't know. I mean, I guess. but I mean, they added it, so we'll see.

39:47.39
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

39:50.65
Tony Sisk
course, not everything just because it's added makes it great. But the fact that that has capability like that, you know.

39:54.22
Sentfrmheaven
Right. Yeah,

39:58.95
Sentfrmheaven
because I forgot about, um, Because, you know, when they were talking about it, they showed the gameplay with the PlayStation 2. Or, uh... Was it it... Which one that had, like, the little wands with the balls on top that lit up?

40:10.92
Sentfrmheaven
And, uh...

40:11.21
Tony Sisk
Yeah, those are the I think those are the move controllers.

40:14.29
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The movie, like said, who wants to play like that? You know, like, was like, eh. You know, maybe I can see, you know, Zelda. You know, like, maybe, like, you know, if you're fishing or something like that. I don't know. It might be a little cool motion or something. don't know. But I was like, eh.

40:30.30
Sentfrmheaven
You know, I'll play the game and relax.

40:33.27
Tony Sisk
Right. um Well, let me simply me ask you, I'm like, ah what are you going to, do you see yourself picking up one of these switch twos for yourself?

40:48.66
Sentfrmheaven
um for myself yes

40:50.05
Tony Sisk
I know you got three kids. So to answer the question, one, are you going to get it for your family, the kids, or your and two, would you get one for yourself?

41:01.29
Sentfrmheaven
uh would i get one from for myself yes most definitely um ah have I had the Switch 1. I bought the Switch 1.

41:12.09
Sentfrmheaven
It was taken over by my kids. My kids, they ganged it up on me and took it from me.

41:14.12
Tony Sisk
Mm-hmm.

41:16.77
Sentfrmheaven
um My daughter, she wants one of the Nintendo Switch 2. So I'm like, hmm, her birthday is in July. So I'm like, hmm. But yeah, i definitely I definitely see myself where i'm getting it. ah Because I mean, and yeah.

41:33.56
Sentfrmheaven
um um We have a lot of guys now that play, you know, at work with the Switch. And I know I to all of them. like, yeah, man, I'm going to with the Switch, too. like, okay, cool. already got a list of friends that's going to be active on, especially Mario Kart. So, you know, like, definitely it's going to be a thing for sure. So, yeah, I definitely see myself getting it.

41:54.29
Sentfrmheaven
You know, am I might, you know, replace a PlayStation. You know, PlayStation don't get right. Get some games out there.

42:02.74
Tony Sisk
PlayStation, what's that? They haven't built, they haven't put a game out in like a year.

42:04.74
Sentfrmheaven
ah Right.

42:10.52
Sentfrmheaven
Right. Like.

42:12.47
Tony Sisk
i mean, Xbox is putting more games out than they are.

42:16.48
Sentfrmheaven
Yeah. Yeah. and one one topic like we can, you know, talk about later, but it's one of those things where it's like vote with your wallet. You know, it's like as PlayStation uses, like if we upset, then then then, you know, we got to make things stop so they can start listening, you know.

42:34.16
Tony Sisk
Yeah, like, I thought you were a game developer. Right.

42:38.79
Sentfrmheaven
Right? You know, I thought you were in business of that.

42:42.74
Tony Sisk
Right.

42:42.80
Sentfrmheaven
You know, games.

42:43.17
Tony Sisk
Yeah, cool. I mean, I think I see myself picking one of these up, too. Maybe not immediately. But I definitely see myself, maybe by the end of the year, having one of these.

42:56.88
Tony Sisk
oh Just because, why not? And I've already missed out on a entire generation of uh nintendo games so and i used to be nintendo person like you know i was a gamecube owner i did not own a the other consoles at the time and um and i loved my gamecube so uh nintendo 64 you know uh super nintendo i mean i'm

43:27.63
Tony Sisk
I'm actually fairly new to PlayStation as as as a, as as a console system. I mean, I had the PS three, but I didn't actually use it until much later in that life cycle. Um, PS four is where i went full PlayStation.

43:42.81
Tony Sisk
And then of course, PS five PlayStation. I was actually Xbox user before PlayStation for a season basically. But before that it was all, of all Nintendo.

43:54.87
Tony Sisk
Um, So, you know, I'm getting back where I'm like, oh, I've missed a lot of Nintendo. So I want to get back into that. So I can see myself picking one up by the end of the year.

44:09.89
Tony Sisk
Probably. Be great to take on a cruise.

44:14.08
Sentfrmheaven
Right, right, right. And, uh, hey, who knows, you know, we might have, uh, you know, we might have to, you know, uh, you know, put it in a giveaway for, you know, the subscription people, you know, who knows, who knows, we might, we might, um, but, uh,

44:28.39
Tony Sisk
Right. right

44:32.24
Sentfrmheaven
But yeah, and also too, they're having a full line of ah accessories that's dropping as well. alone They got the Joy-Cons. Joy-Cons are priced at $95 from the 70, the one and the two.

44:47.33
Sentfrmheaven
I mean, and the one and the OLED. but They got the two controller again, the Pro Controller. um That's an 85. They have a wired controller from a Horde Pad company up for 45. carrying case of 85 screen protector at 40 and uh gamestop has like some uh some off brand stuff ranging from like 35 to 50 you know if you don't want to get the official official nintendo stuff

45:07.52
Tony Sisk
Yeah. So, yeah, shopping on ah June 4th. So it's a busy week. It's a busy week in the games world, actually. I think game ah Sony's actually having a...

45:22.21
Tony Sisk
ah one of their events tomorrow, which is the third, stay a place. So look out for that tomorrow.

45:29.46
Sentfrmheaven
Yep. Mm-hmm.

45:32.29
Tony Sisk
Then you have the Nintendo system i and Mario Kart dropping on the fourth, along with the other games that come with the system. And then on the fifth, we have Summer Games Fest by Jeff Keighley.

45:48.26
Tony Sisk
So we should see lots of new announcements on the fifth. So it's a busy week.

45:53.73
Sentfrmheaven
Right, see, yeah, see, and that's what's interesting.

45:53.74
Tony Sisk
Busy week.

45:56.48
Sentfrmheaven
Nintendo is dropping Uh, what, yeah, think of what, June 5th, the same day as the Kegel, uh, the, the award show. Interesting. Who's gonna be watching award show when I got this Nintendo Switch and 2 in my hands, you know?

46:10.37
Tony Sisk
Well, they might be on there to see what new Nintendo Switch 2 game is going to drop.

46:14.89
Sentfrmheaven
Right, right, and also, do you know what else has, ah announced the release date today?

46:15.69
Tony Sisk
Ha ha ha ha.

46:23.29
Sentfrmheaven
Borderlands 4, September

46:25.95
Tony Sisk
Okay. and Okay.

46:27.52
Sentfrmheaven
Yep, 2K is a September 5th, but I don't know. I talked to everybody, and I think that might be dead for me. ah Yep, I think might be getting back on the Marvel Rivals train. ah I was talking to people last night, and I was like, man, feel like... ah I feel like Thor got weaker, but it actually buffs Thor's lightning ability.

46:52.38
Sentfrmheaven
So that was like anger.

46:52.61
Tony Sisk
Yeah.

46:53.22
Sentfrmheaven
So I'm like, all right, let me get back on my Thor.

46:54.23
Tony Sisk
Okay.

46:56.08
Sentfrmheaven
what saying?

46:56.28
Tony Sisk
All right.

46:56.46
Sentfrmheaven
You know, let me see.

46:56.83
Tony Sisk
It'll be good to see you on there.

46:57.14
Sentfrmheaven
You know, because was on the only player was good at. He's no good at anyway. what But yeah, but Nintendo Switch is coming to a retail store near you. And um I think it's going to be a big hit. I think it's going to be big. Now, okay, prediction.

47:16.75
Sentfrmheaven
I don't know what the timeframe is gonna be. Do you wanna do it couple months or end of the year? How many units you think it's gonna sell?

47:25.91
Tony Sisk
The switch?

47:27.02
Sentfrmheaven
The switch to, yep.

47:29.64
Tony Sisk
Well, I think they'll sell as many as they can make. So what is the production capacity? So the but production capacity

47:37.89
Sentfrmheaven
Right.

47:44.35
Tony Sisk
PlayStation, if we compare it to PlayStation, I think at PlayStation's peak, they have the manufacturing capacity of about 15 million units per year.

47:58.45
Tony Sisk
ah Well, we're already halfway through the year, basically, here. I'm going to say...

48:10.09
Tony Sisk
assuming they've been producing them for a couple months now, probably to get the supplies up. I'm going to say 12 million units.
