Tony Sisk
Hi folks, welcome back to Good to Game Radio. I'm here again with Jaime tonight. And tonight we're talking some betas. We got Battlefield 6 beta. We've got Metal Gear Solid 6 Delta coming out in a week.
00:00:17.10
Tony Sisk
And then the Alien Earth Hulu TV show came out last week. We're going to dive in into a little bit of discussion about what we saw there.
00:00:29.66
Tony Sisk
So sit back, relax, enjoy the show. Hami, what's going on?
00:00:34.28
Jaime G
Dude, one correction here, and and ah and I ah feel bad, but it's Metal Gear Solid 3, not 6.
00:00:46.41
Tony Sisk
Well, for the show, it's going to be six. No. you
00:00:50.63
Jaime G
Oh, good, man.
00:00:51.28
Tony Sisk
Battlefield 6 beta and Metal Gear Solid 3 beta.
00:00:51.39
Jaime G
It's been
00:00:55.90
Tony Sisk
beta
00:00:55.93
Jaime G
3.
00:00:57.15
Tony Sisk
ah No, Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta.
00:00:57.85
Jaime G
Yes. No, that's not a beta.
00:01:03.24
Jaime G
it's like It's like we can't get our ah our gaming facts straight.
00:01:03.49
Tony Sisk
and There's a lot, you know, Metal Gear Solid.
00:01:06.45
Jaime G
But anyway, man, it's been it's been a minute. It's good to good to be catching up with you. A lot of interesting things happening. Dude, all weekend long, every single day i logged in to play whatever.
00:01:23.24
Jaime G
people, friends, you name it. It's like everybody's playing Battlefield. ah no No, not Battlefield. Battlefront.
00:01:31.89
Tony Sisk
Battlefield.
00:01:32.24
Jaime G
Battlefield.
00:01:33.15
Tony Sisk
Battlefront is the Star Wars series, I think.
00:01:33.37
Jaime G
BF6.
00:01:36.19
Tony Sisk
Battlefield is the more modern military.
00:01:36.88
Jaime G
That's right. Okay, so Battlefield 6 is blowing up, man. I didn't get in on the action. By the way, Shout out to the Southwest Gaming League, the SGL.
00:01:51.97
Jaime G
They reached out to us on um on Discord, and they were saying, hey, are there people here that are going to play ah you know but ah Battlefield this weekend? you know hook you know Reach out to us. We're going to have a lot of people from our community playing.
00:02:08.38
Jaime G
I hope people played it. I didn't jump in on the fun. you know a Adulting takes a lot of time. Plus, I was actually watching Hulu. We're going get to that.
00:02:19.85
Jaime G
But tell me about, you did play this, right, if I understand this correctly.
00:02:23.59
Tony Sisk
Okay, so Battlefield 6 has been the hot topic and games here the last two weeks or so. Last weekend, they had a beta.
00:02:30.91
Jaime G
Yes, I agree.
00:02:33.13
Tony Sisk
ah And then again, they followed it up with another beta this week. I did not catch the first beta, but this one I did manage to get into on Friday night and then again, Saturday night and then some Sunday.
00:02:46.56
Tony Sisk
um so yes, I've played the beta. ah I'm very excited that, you know, what, what I've seen and played as far as like the more grounded military feel,
00:03:03.57
Tony Sisk
it's not call of duty um battlefield's never been called duty and but you've got vehicles you got destruction you've got you know helicopters and airplanes and there's a lot of stuff going on in a battlefield game and the best ones in the series were my were probably three and four and then battlefield one was actually pretty good setting world war one but uh it's been a couple years now that We haven't had a good Battlefield game.
00:03:34.77
Tony Sisk
And this is our...
00:03:35.28
Jaime G
i so I seem to remember that, that it fell from its spot that it had with maybe some of its releases. but But is this it? is this Are they back on on on peak shape? What's what's up?
00:03:50.75
Tony Sisk
Okay, so... Battlefield 2042. I didn't play that one. was big flop. ah twenty forty two ah ah didn't play that one it was big flop
00:04:02.62
Tony Sisk
And I think...
00:04:03.07
Jaime G
that was so there That was unlike monster energy drinks. like like You could get like codes for like extra XP or something.
00:04:13.55
Tony Sisk
Yeah, I don't know what exactly was the deal with that game, but it was a huge flop. ah But this one seems to have the community excited. I think people are tired of Call of Duty and their dumb skins.
00:04:26.76
Tony Sisk
Now, we call we cover Call Duty a lot, especially when it comes to the the fall period when Call Duty comes into play for us.
00:04:30.20
Jaime G
Yes.
00:04:34.19
Jaime G
and and and And if you remember, you and I and Vance had a very lengthy episode where we were complaining that the skins that they were doing, I particularly remember Skeletor, Groot, it just was not the right place for a Call of Duty game.
00:04:58.74
Jaime G
It's just not.
00:04:58.79
Tony Sisk
Right Yeah it's not the right place for a Call of Duty game It's not the right place for in a Battlefield game And apparently that's what 2042 Was doing they were putting skins like that In the 2042 I don't know didn't play it But if they were then I wouldn't have played it ah Because Battlefield is supposed to be A more realistic Tactical You know Military game like where It's supposed to feel like war go ahead
00:05:01.40
Jaime G
I mean,
00:05:11.42
Jaime G
hu
00:05:26.86
Jaime G
So my first experience with Battlefield, and I remember this very clearly. you You know him from the community, J-Rod. um
00:05:36.54
Tony Sisk
Mm-hmm.
00:05:39.09
Jaime G
probably around i remember this this was 2011 it was it was right at the Thanksgiving time in 2011 because it was Black Friday I remember going to place and who you know we're adults but we're still like kids we're we're like dude what did you buy i bought this this this well I bought a controller for the Xbox and this around this time i think we were like on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 era.
00:06:11.31
Jaime G
And I remember that he was like, dude, you gotta check this game out. I can't remember which battle battlefield it was, but I remember it was 2011, November 2011.
00:06:23.48
Jaime G
And i was just mind blown because this was the first time, i mean, i've I had been playing Halo 2 for bit, that I saw just the scale of how many online players were in there.
00:06:40.11
Jaime G
Every single time he died, he's like, boom, back in the game, parachuting, dude, like literally parachuting. And one time I think he was like parachuting down something. He lands on the plane, takes over the plane for the guy or something.
00:06:54.60
Jaime G
And like many times he was just like escorting a tank, like somebody else was driving it. And he was like repairing it with, you know, a welder and whatever. And I'm just like here thinking like,
00:07:07.55
Jaime G
yo, this is the future of what you know online multiplayer is going to be. And this is in the Xbox 360 days, right?
00:07:16.09
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:07:16.31
Jaime G
Fast forward 14 years. And again, my mind i can't remember seeing that type of mayhem in in a Call of Duty game.
00:07:29.45
Jaime G
Like what I remember seeing that one time. Again, Call of Duty has done a great, it's It's done great strides. It's done some really cool things. But for some reason, that same wow moment I had then, and don't remember having it with Call of Duty.
00:07:47.82
Tony Sisk
Right, yeah. you can yeah You can pull up some pretty spectacular plays in Battlefield. i have put up videos from the past games I've played where I just did something. It was some unbelievable play.
00:08:02.89
Tony Sisk
That you're not going see in a Call of Duty Because Call Duty is like, okay, oh yeah You you killed like 12 dudes in a row You know, whatever But like in Battlefield, I mean you can do some crazy stuff Like Battlefield 1 There was a When I played it like i some i got Somehow I got on top of a one of those ah Like blimps
00:08:09.90
Jaime G
yeah
00:08:29.13
Tony Sisk
And I'm running along the top of this blimp and this person on a biplane goes flying by and I had a shotgun and I shot the tail section of the plane and it took him down.
00:08:40.88
Tony Sisk
I couldn't believe it. I have this on video on on on Facebook somewhere. You have to search it, but it was crazy.
00:08:44.66
Jaime G
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's that's kind of like the type of crazy thing I remember seeing that um I'm like, like, yo, you just parachuted onto like an F-15, like what?
00:08:57.97
Tony Sisk
Right. I think like, I think it 2042. They had a commercial where the guy like was in a plane, his plane got shot up, he ejected.
00:09:10.22
Tony Sisk
and then he, somehow he has a rock a rocket launcher and he shoots down the plane that shot him down with this rocket launch. It was the most ridiculous scene ever. But yeah, I mean, that's, that's the whole point. It's like, you can just,
00:09:23.33
Tony Sisk
pull off some crazy stuff. But yeah, I mean, in the beta, so the beta I played this weekend, I mean, it it felt like the older games that were you know more successful and stuff. ah Some of the maps I started playing on were very urban, so lots of buildings and stuff.
00:09:46.73
Tony Sisk
ah Trying to get reoriented to just that type of play. My skills weren't up to the task. So I was just, you know, giving away tickets to the other team basically because I just kept dying.
00:10:01.08
Tony Sisk
um
00:10:01.30
Jaime G
Got to get good.
00:10:02.59
Tony Sisk
But sometimes like when you're not good, like shooting people, what you can't, you can still help your team, which is what's kind of great about Battlefield versus Call of Duty. Call Duty, if you're not a good shooter, you're useless.
00:10:16.96
Tony Sisk
Like, you're literally useless.
00:10:17.49
Jaime G
Oh, yeah.
00:10:18.32
Tony Sisk
There's nothing, I mean, you're just, you might as well quit because you're going you're just costing your team the game.
00:10:18.61
Jaime G
Yeah, that's me.
00:10:23.59
Tony Sisk
And Battlefield, what's great about Battlefield is you could, you could do other things to help your team win.
00:10:23.97
Jaime G
Oh, yeah.
00:10:30.34
Tony Sisk
So,
00:10:30.90
Jaime G
and that's And that's kind of what I remember. J-Rod, he was playing and and and his whole thing, you know he was like ducking, hiding, and then like trying to like keep the team because the team winning because he was making sure that the tank that somebody else was just using to plow over everybody was was healed up. Right?
00:10:53.39
Jaime G
And so I kept on telling him like like, dude, that's kind of boring.
00:10:53.58
Tony Sisk
Right, yeah.
00:10:56.86
Jaime G
He's like, no, dude, I'm helping my team. So you you're actually bringing up a good point.
00:11:00.08
Tony Sisk
Yeah. Yeah, so, i mean, if you can't kill anybody, then you can save people. You can revive people. You know, you can be the medic.
00:11:10.53
Tony Sisk
You don't even have to be the medic. You can do that without being a medic. But being a medic is way more efficient. Yeah. So there's people that just that play. That's all they do is heal people, save people like, and that there's fun to that. There's glory in that, right? Because you can help hold a point because you're there to revive the other players, you know, and there's the window of revival is pretty long. Like if you get shot, it shows you where you got tat. yeah It shows you where you got shot at, you know, on the and like bottom right hand corner or whatever. it's like, Oh, you, your your arm is, you know,
00:11:46.44
Tony Sisk
got hit or whatever. And then you're laying there on the ground. I, the timer on that must be like 25 seconds. Like, so there's like, and you can see what's cool is like, you can see the little radar at the bottom left.
00:11:59.86
Tony Sisk
So you can see where your teammates are or any, anybody on your, not in your squad. So you can see your squad mates and you can see your team mates in the radar.
00:12:10.13
Tony Sisk
So you can see who's around you. And then it gives you like in meter measurements, like how far away another player is on your team. So you could see, like, oh, there's a guy that's 10 meters away. Is he headed my way? And you could see, all it starts going counting down. Then you know, oh, he's headed my way.
00:12:29.05
Tony Sisk
Because, like, there's a button that says give up. Like, you basically just succumb to injury. You can place that. You can push push that and get back in the game. But if you've never played Battlefield before, like...
00:12:41.10
Tony Sisk
You respawn, you can respawn at the the the starting point, at any control point, or on directly on the teammates that are not in combat. So yeah you can give up and get right back in the fight, but sometimes you might be put back into a position. There might not be a spot for you to respawn in that's uh, doesn't require you having to run back to the fight. So you bet you might be but better off just waiting to see if somebody revives you, especially if you're on a control point.
00:13:12.62
Tony Sisk
So yeah, it's a different top. It's a definitely different style of play. Um, It's fine. I mean, the urban maps, I think I was telling you earlier, mike my my issue is like right now, like i can't see anything.
00:13:26.53
Tony Sisk
like like if I'm having a hard time seeing the enemy. And with modern war weapons that they have in these games now, it's like, if they see you first and you haven't seen them, you're dead.
00:13:37.71
Tony Sisk
I mean, that's it. It's like...
00:13:39.43
Jaime G
is Is it, isn't that like the same in real life?
00:13:43.07
Tony Sisk
Yeah, pretty much. But like... It's even worse than this because like, you know, you were just, just, I'm having a hard time seeing in the urban, in the urban maps.
00:13:56.52
Tony Sisk
I played a map that was more like a mountain, a mountain range with like a town in the valley. ah And the snipers, man, man, the snipers up on the ridges and stuff.
00:14:10.47
Tony Sisk
Whew. That's tough. it you if you If you leave yourself exposed, you're you're going down. Because people just love playing snipers. so and And they just sit up on those hilltops shoot down. So like you could play counter sniper and help take those guys out or whatever. But, you know, that felt more like a battlefield.
00:14:32.26
Tony Sisk
map to me versus like the real in like urban just where it's just urban streets and stuff like that it's almost it's so claustrophobic uh you know so between my rust the rust factor of my me not having played a battle full game in a while and Maybe like I don't know like Understanding the kind of what's kind of going on with like the weapon systems and stuff like You can upgrade your weapons, you know, but with attachments and stuff and that's like when you start off with a basic weapon Like in call of duty if you have a basic weapon Right, you're dead, but if you're a good player you could still kill people with that basic weapon, right?
00:15:10.67
Jaime G
Oh, you're dead.
00:15:16.63
Tony Sisk
So it's like Yeah, no, but Right
00:15:17.00
Jaime G
oh yeah yeah. But once once you start getting like the attachments and you're like, you know, ah what is it? Like aim. Oh, what's what's ah down? Oh, man.
00:15:29.28
Jaime G
I'm so rusty. can't remember that the terms like ah DPS. No, no, no, no. It's not damage per second. It's time to time to
00:15:38.53
Tony Sisk
Oh, yeah, yeah. I know what you're talking about.
00:15:43.12
Tony Sisk
Time to aim or whatever it is. Yeah.
00:15:44.87
Jaime G
Yeah, like that you max that out and give it some some good balance so that you're not like shooting and your gun is doing this all over the place.
00:15:53.27
Tony Sisk
yeah
00:15:54.91
Jaime G
You're quite competitive at that point.
00:15:58.60
Tony Sisk
Right. So in battlefield, it's like the attachments ah to me, like a more important, like they're going to affect your effectiveness more because of the attachment. So, um, yeah. So I have to get you, like you earn, it's like almost like an RPG, right? It's really like, it's just like, psychology like you earn experience and you unlock stuff and stuff like that.
00:16:26.67
Tony Sisk
Like, I got to climb that ladder um unlocking stuff to get myself the best attachments and and everything that way, you know, I'm more effective because like I started off, like I start off with the assault class when in battlefield, you have the like assault class, you have recon, you have support and you have medic.
00:16:47.40
Tony Sisk
um So I usually start off with assault just to get the feel of things. And you know, you have like a, M4 Maybe something else I can't remember but You know there's no you All you get is like a hollow Scope There's no magnification so it's like I can't see at distance So it's like
00:17:10.47
Jaime G
Yeah, I mean, that's, yeah.
00:17:14.09
Tony Sisk
yeah So my first attachment was like a better sight, right?
00:17:20.07
Tony Sisk
So with a little bit of magnification, like the very first scope you could get had like a little bit of magnification, not much, but though it was a tighter field of view, so it's like you gave up having a better field of vision, but I get a better...
00:17:35.19
Tony Sisk
and a little bit magnification, actually see a little bit clearer at distance, but, you know, yeah with the assault class, you start off with a shotgun. You have, like, literally, you know, your a shotgun, and ah grenade launcher.
00:17:50.42
Tony Sisk
So, course, ah grenades, yeah i you just launch grenades into, like, crowded rooms and take people out, blow whole sides of the buildings away and stuff. That's...
00:18:04.24
Tony Sisk
It's fun. It's just me getting back used to it. So it's like initially, I think if you've never played battlefield before, you haven't played in a long time, you're going to be like me. It's like, man, I am just getting whooped.
00:18:16.22
Tony Sisk
I'm like, I'm not, I'm not being effective here. ah But if you look, it's funny. It's like, if you look at the squad scores at the end, like they, they rank your squad performance and then you get to see the stats of each of the players. So like,
00:18:31.51
Tony Sisk
My points contributed are like about the same as somebody who has a ton of kills. Right. It's like, so, but I'm playing the point, like just like in Call Duty.
00:18:45.44
Tony Sisk
I always play the point. I always play the objective.
00:18:47.07
Jaime G
Yeah, right.
00:18:48.17
Tony Sisk
So, you know, I'm capturing points.
00:18:48.44
Jaime G
Yeah, yeah.
00:18:51.58
Tony Sisk
I'm holding points and stuff. Even though I'm not be killing anybody, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm helping in that regard. So,
00:18:57.61
Jaime G
I kind of want to say that one of the last times I remember playing Call of Duty with you that you and I were so upset because people were just like guns blazing and we were like, dude, we have to hold the point or we have to like do something specific and we were in general losing but it was because people were just like out there just to shoot other people rather than play the objective.
00:19:20.51
Tony Sisk
Right. Yeah. So, you know, Battlefield more of an objectiveive objective-based game, so that's where it's really where it's all at. So, teamwork is required.
00:19:32.28
Jaime G
Okay, question. Question for you. All right. you're ah you're at You're at your local Best Buy, right? You got a gift card for one game.
00:19:45.31
Jaime G
Are you, are you, and you have the next Call of Duty. I have no idea what the next one's going to be. It might finally be Call of Duty, Atlantis edition. i don't know.
00:19:56.43
Jaime G
Um, is this battlefield right now making you think like, Hey, I'm, I might, this might be that year that I put my time in commitment in, into BF or, so or COD.
00:19:56.65
Tony Sisk
right
00:20:12.47
Tony Sisk
So I've already determined this. I've already answered this question in my head. um
00:20:18.54
Tony Sisk
This will be the year that Battlefield will be my main ah my main shooter that I'm playing.
00:20:23.66
Jaime G
Y'all heard it first here.
00:20:25.48
Tony Sisk
Battlefield. I'm playing Battlefield.
00:20:26.61
Jaime G
a Wow. That's a it's a bold commitment there to say, my friend.
00:20:32.63
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:20:32.78
Jaime G
so so So this is a beta.
00:20:33.24
Tony Sisk
I mean, I'm playing Battlefield.
00:20:35.14
Jaime G
this This is a closed beta. When is the game supposed to like like legit drop?
00:20:42.06
Tony Sisk
October, like eleven
00:20:45.11
Jaime G
So there's like two two more months before. it might There might be some more betas in between. But there's two more months before that game actually releases. And if memory serves me right, that's around the same time frame that the next Call of Duty should release.
00:21:02.35
Tony Sisk
Right, yeah. Usually the back half of October, I think, is usually when Call of Duty releases.
00:21:04.55
Jaime G
and
00:21:07.60
Jaime G
Because I always know that if you just, whenever it releases, if you just wait like three or four weeks, It's Black Friday and you can get some type of discount on it.
00:21:18.50
Tony Sisk
But see, they didn't do that last year. Remember, we talked about that.
00:21:20.95
Jaime G
but
00:21:21.88
Tony Sisk
Yeah, they didn't give a discount.
00:21:21.97
Jaime G
Yeah, we talked about that, but that was like the first time. That was like the first time in like forever. And you got to realize that that they were probably not making as much money because that was the first year that it released on Game Pass on day one.
00:21:34.69
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:21:36.24
Jaime G
Right? So they're probably like, we need to make money somewhere.
00:21:36.79
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:21:41.00
Jaime G
um
00:21:41.11
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:21:42.16
Jaime G
Okay, so then you're going to go with with Battlefield 6. Man, this is so interesting to hear. mean, just because I wasn't a Call of Duty player. I started playing Call of Duty because you, Vance, and Clint used to play it all the time.
00:21:59.51
Jaime G
And this last year, i went with Marble Rivals. I didn't do Call a Duty. But if you're going to be playing that, then give me a heads up because that means that I i might change it and give it a world. You know you you don't know. That might be good, and I might be like,
00:22:15.72
Jaime G
you know, super awesome at it. Probably not, but I could.
00:22:19.65
Tony Sisk
Yeah, I mean, specialize in something. You you could be ah an awesome driver of a tank or you know or helicopter pilot.
00:22:29.39
Jaime G
Okay, question. Does it also have, like the last couple of Call of Duties I've played, it has a main campaign, which is usually pretty short, but it gives you a good idea of the mechanics.
00:22:43.21
Jaime G
And does it have some type of like zombie modes?
00:22:48.67
Tony Sisk
I don't remember ever being in these zombie modes in Battlefield.
00:22:52.52
Jaime G
No?
00:22:53.01
Tony Sisk
And there's no...
00:22:56.47
Tony Sisk
campaign.
00:22:56.52
Jaime G
So Battlefield is exclusively PvP, Battle Royale, exclusively you know you know pvp battle royale
00:23:05.52
Tony Sisk
I take that back. Battlefield does have a campaign. I remember now. Yeah, because Battlefield... ah
00:23:16.67
Tony Sisk
I know Battlefield 1 had a campaign. um And then Battlefield, the World War 2 on Battlefield 5, I think, had a campaign, World War 2 campaign.
00:23:28.09
Tony Sisk
I didn't play that one.
00:23:28.68
Jaime G
Okay.
00:23:29.05
Tony Sisk
I played the one. So, yeah, there is there is a campaign. It's not usually very long.
00:23:32.96
Jaime G
But it doesn't have like, it doesn't have like a silly random mode that you just can get in there and, and like, like, like, like Call of Duty Zombies. Cause again, Call of Duty Zombies, it's, it's expected now every year with every release.
00:23:43.02
Tony Sisk
No, there's no zombie modes.
00:23:48.73
Tony Sisk
Right. I think the last thing I heard about battle coming up with a gimmicky thing was like, they were going to try and do like a battle Royale. I don't know if they ever did that or not, but, um, it's typically not a gimmicky.
00:24:00.81
Jaime G
Alright.
00:24:02.63
Tony Sisk
Like they have just modes that are different in regards to like ah what you're trying to do on the battlefield. Like, like my favorite mode,
00:24:16.19
Tony Sisk
I don't know if it's still called this. It's called Rush. therere Their bread and butter mode is conquest, which is like six points on a map, and you you can get points for controlling a point, a control point, and then you know each team has so many life tickets.
00:24:36.40
Tony Sisk
And then at the end of the that game,
00:24:37.50
Jaime G
Yeah, yeah. And you might die one time, but somebody else died five times and they like consumed these, right?
00:24:42.90
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:24:45.14
Tony Sisk
Right. But my favorite mode is rush. And what it is, it'll take like a conquest map, which is their biggest map. And then they'll take a section of it that's more like a linear section.
00:25:00.41
Tony Sisk
and there'll be and um a team that's attacking, a team that's defending, and then the object is to get to, you know, the headquarters, basically, of the defending team.
00:25:14.45
Tony Sisk
So you do that by capturing these two control points along, like, like the first, say the first line of defense will have two control points, and you once you've captured both control points in the line of the fence falls goes transitions to the next point line of the fence so the object is obviously to progress through these lines of the fence until you've taken the enemy headquarters that's my favorite mode because to me that is the most realistic mode because
00:25:48.29
Tony Sisk
that is it's not where you know people are just kind of everywhere they can they can pop up and be you know in the control point that's know behind you way behind you or whatever this is more of like a static line think of what you know kind of like ukraine and russia right now in their war right there that is static lines and then along that you have one side trying to break through to the other in in and a lot of like whatever movement warfare they're using with tanks and combination of drones and helicopters and airplanes so they're trying to make a breakthrough that's what that that that mode is trying to make a breakthrough so that's my favorite mode and i think they've they have another mode that's or they've taken that moment and they've kind of adjusted uh made a few adjustments to it so it might be called something else now but but yeah
00:26:48.73
Jaime G
Well, speaking of betas, man, there's one that I'm pretty excited about and I'm hoping that I can get on this.
00:26:49.27
Tony Sisk
Mm-hmm.
00:26:58.42
Jaime G
But there's this little gem that's called Marble Tolkien Fighting Souls, which, by the way, is kind of like a repeat. You know how? Remember that one scene in Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse or Across the Spider-Verse where um Spider-Man India was like, did you just say chai tea?
00:27:20.13
Jaime G
Chai is tea. You're basically saying tea tea, right?
00:27:22.71
Tony Sisk
Right. Yeah.
00:27:24.49
Jaime G
So Tolkien means fighting souls, okay? So the game is called Marvel Tolkien fighting souls. So it's like repeating it.
00:27:33.00
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:27:33.35
Jaime G
um But ah so there's going to be a beta on this. And i am, I am actually like super excited about this. It's going to be September 5th through the 7th, you know, and I don't know. I mean, I'm hoping that I can get into this if I can, man, I'm just going to be like super ecstatic posting videos or doing something, but I hope that I can get the same type of experience like you and a lot of other players had this past weekend on battlefield six. Cause again,
00:28:10.16
Jaime G
Everybody that I know, every single time I logged on, people were playing Battlefield. So I hope that's a good indicator of how popular this game is going to be upon release, you said, in October.
00:28:17.76
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:28:24.12
Jaime G
um This Marvel game is not going to be, I don't think it's going to be released this year. i think it's a 2026, early 2026 release. But, you know, don't like fighting games.
00:28:35.28
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:28:35.36
Jaime G
Hopefully I can get into this and and share with the fighting game community that listens to us.
00:28:40.34
Tony Sisk
Yeah, the thing about Battlefield, I think one of the things that they're famous for is like um maybe not on initial release, but eventually every Battlefield,
00:28:53.22
Tony Sisk
you can you can have your own server where you set the rules and the parameters of what know the battle is going to be like.
00:29:04.41
Tony Sisk
And then you invite all your friends and stuff to play. but So it's nothing but your friends. It's like a huge lobby of, you know, private groups. So like that's kind of what they're known for is having those servers and stuff.
00:29:18.28
Jaime G
Yeah. Right. Yes.
00:29:19.02
Tony Sisk
And you can like, when you go in and you can search for open servers where they have specific rules laid out of like what, how the game is set up for that particular server.
00:29:30.53
Jaime G
right
00:29:31.48
Tony Sisk
So,
00:29:34.10
Tony Sisk
So, yeah, so that, the I think that fighting game, we were talking about the Marvel final game fighting game. What was that? that was Was that previewed in the Game of the Year Awards or the June?
00:29:44.81
Jaime G
yes
00:29:47.76
Jaime G
Not in the game of the year, worse. There was a recent game, like, yes, that's where it was.
00:29:52.14
Tony Sisk
The Summer Game Fest or something? Yeah.
00:29:56.18
Jaime G
It was, like, actually the last game that was revealed. And it's, and you know, by Arc System Works, who did great games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Dead Undernight, or Dead...
00:30:11.70
Jaime G
and and there's a weird indie fighting game, D&D Duel, um the Guilty Gear Strive series. It's got some really good titles under its belt.
00:30:25.21
Jaime G
And this might be, this is their first time, ah you know, handling a big franchise like Marvel. And apparently Sony came to them and they're like, we think you guys can do this game that we really want to, you know,
00:30:40.82
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:30:40.91
Jaime G
promote and do something special about it. And that's just like, what?
00:30:46.56
Tony Sisk
Yeah, I remember we talked quite a bit about that game. And then when the one episodes back that that you were excited for that.
00:30:52.20
Jaime G
And we will talk some more about it after it releases.
00:30:54.94
Tony Sisk
Yep. All right. So and then we have an upcoming game here at the end of the month. Metal Gear.
00:31:06.00
Jaime G
Metal Gear Solid, Delta, Snake Eater, whatever.
00:31:06.05
Tony Sisk
Solid. Yeah, Delta. they Right. It's a remake.
00:31:12.48
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:31:12.59
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:31:14.90
Jaime G
OK, honestly, this I'm like super hyped about this one because I had the original. I still have it upstairs in my game collection. The original Metal Gear Solid 3, this game was originally released in the PlayStation 2 era.
00:31:32.36
Jaime G
And this game was before ah Hideo Kojima went just bonkers and started doing like weird, I don't know, things in his video games.
00:31:45.48
Jaime G
So this is still a grounded game. It's set in like ah during the Cold War.
00:31:51.11
Tony Sisk
1962 or something like that.
00:31:51.72
Jaime G
And
00:31:55.11
Jaime G
something around there. But, you know, when Metal Gear Solid 1 came out, it was like such unprecedented success for Konami. Metal Gear Solid, and that came out for the PlayStation 1.
00:32:08.57
Jaime G
Metal Gear Solid 2 came out, it did fairly well. But when you play Metal Gear Solid 3, because of the fact that it's no longer in present time, but you know, in the Cold War era,
00:32:20.64
Jaime G
They took away very intentionally a lot of the mechanics that could help you be stealthy, that could help you like get past the areas. And I totally remember this this game, Tony.
00:32:34.28
Jaime G
like The difficulty level from like the previous two games was just amped up to the extreme. And i totally remember one time being spotted and before in the other games, you could just like sometimes hide in like a corner, like behind a plant and the gap the the the but the other guys wouldn't find you. They'd be like, huh, where'd he go?
00:33:03.15
Jaime G
Well, dispatch everyone, send them back to headquarters. This game, dude, I remember one time just like hiding underneath a house. And the guys were like, we know he came around here.
00:33:16.52
Jaime G
Dude, I must have sat there for like seven minutes waiting for the guys to finally give up. i Like, I remember playing in my house, just being like, this is crazy.
00:33:28.29
Jaime G
and and in And I mean, in real life, people who would be like, i know somebody's here. I'm not giving up, right?
00:33:32.91
Tony Sisk
right Right.
00:33:35.80
Jaime G
So again, the game was good. it wasn't i don't think it was Prime, Metal Gear Solid. But it was good and it's before Hideo Kojima went crazy.
00:33:47.92
Jaime G
So I'm interested in playing this.
00:33:50.45
Tony Sisk
So I have this game on my...
00:33:55.92
Jaime G
Steam Deck.
00:33:56.83
Tony Sisk
Steam Deck. um The remastered. They had they did like a remaster of the original.
00:34:03.62
Jaime G
yeah
00:34:04.66
Tony Sisk
And I have it. and The good controls still stink. I don't even know how people played games back in the day like this because ah like you can't do anything.
00:34:13.17
Jaime G
Well, good dude, people were figuring things out like today. I bet you that if you grab Battlefield 6, we were just talking about this, you grab it, you know which left trigger you're going to aim with, and you know instinctively which right trigger you're going to aim with.
00:34:28.39
Tony Sisk
Mm-hmm.
00:34:33.98
Jaime G
Back in the day, i don't know if you remember this, but the PlayStation 2 controller had like analog, um, It could tell how far down you were pressing like the square or the X button.
00:34:48.62
Jaime G
So it had a mechanic where like you had to put, put like push the ah bumper, the the left bumper to aim. And then you had to like kind of sort of press on the button for your character to like aim at, to like bring up his, oh, that's that's what it was.
00:35:07.60
Jaime G
You use the the the button up to go into like first first person view. And then you would like slightly press the button to aim. And if you like release the button, you wouldn't shoot. But if you like press button a little bit harder,
00:35:23.06
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:35:23.67
Jaime G
it would actually shoot. But those controls don't exist in today's controllers, right? So so they there's no way that they can actually port that in into like a PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 controller because the controller doesn't have the same setup.
00:35:31.05
Tony Sisk
right
00:35:44.75
Jaime G
ah So...
00:35:46.63
Tony Sisk
Yeah. um um People that play games today should be thankful. There's kind of like an ergonomic standard of like ah with controllers.
00:35:55.41
Jaime G
Yeah,
00:35:57.25
Tony Sisk
Like you can pick up if you're playing a shooter like Jaime was saying you know that if you pull the left trigger that should pull up you're going aim down sights.
00:36:09.73
Tony Sisk
Right? You pull the right trigger you're going to shoot.
00:36:10.17
Jaime G
it doesn't matter it doesn't matter if it's.
00:36:11.91
Tony Sisk
You're going to push right bumper grenade.
00:36:15.46
Jaime G
Right, Battlefield, Dead Space, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, they all follow the same formula.
00:36:15.85
Tony Sisk
Left bumper. Smoke grenade. ah
00:36:22.67
Jaime G
But when the PlayStation 2 and these games were coming out, it could have been different like different from one game to another, like be like night and day. so So a lot of modern gamers, yeah, right.
00:36:32.27
Tony Sisk
Yeah. It's more standard now. Modern gamers are spoiled.
00:36:35.22
Jaime G
like Yeah, they don't they don't get this. They don't have to retrain their brain for every game that comes out.
00:36:42.32
Tony Sisk
Right. I'm like, just like i I tried to play like Halo. Like a the original Halo from back in the day.
00:36:53.76
Jaime G
Oh, and you're like trying to dash?
00:36:54.54
Tony Sisk
and Yeah, and it's like the ca controls are still like backwards. Like, have what? Why am I not shooting? What is going on here? Why am I not running?
00:37:04.02
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:37:04.89
Tony Sisk
what
00:37:08.08
Tony Sisk
ah
00:37:08.69
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:37:08.73
Tony Sisk
But yeah, so modern gamers are spoiled. Anyway, ah yeah, so I have that game. Controls still stink, even under the remastered version, so hopefully this remake...
00:37:21.34
Tony Sisk
They have modern...
00:37:21.70
Jaime G
Oh, yeah. they're goingnna They're going to have to change the control scheme.
00:37:23.55
Tony Sisk
But, you know, we had the same worry when we were playing... What was it? Resident Evil 4 Remake? Like...
00:37:29.34
Jaime G
I remember. Mm-hmm.
00:37:30.38
Tony Sisk
Yeah, and the controls are pretty standard. So...
00:37:33.71
Jaime G
Mm-hmm.
00:37:33.85
Tony Sisk
To today's time. So... That that makes a big difference.
00:37:36.25
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:37:37.87
Tony Sisk
Because i also own that game.
00:37:38.51
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:37:39.87
Tony Sisk
The original game. On my Steam Deck. And it is unplayable. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. These games that that just... that were use those old movements and control inputs.
00:37:50.67
Tony Sisk
I just can't play them. There's just, it's, it's frustrating.
00:37:52.58
Jaime G
We're right.
00:37:55.84
Jaime G
Yeah, because again, now you're so used to how every game comes out. aye
00:38:01.69
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:38:03.45
Jaime G
so but So Metal Gear Solid, Delta, Snake Eater 3, pre-Hideo Kojima going you know crazy, releases on August the 28th. I will be picking it up.
00:38:15.52
Jaime G
I will be spending some time with it. And you know let's see if we can get some thoughts going around the show.
00:38:21.59
Tony Sisk
That's only 10 days away. That's crazy.
00:38:25.26
Jaime G
It is You were you weren thinking it was releasing in October.
00:38:25.88
Tony Sisk
It's crazy.
00:38:29.44
Tony Sisk
Yeah, well, we were going to do like this huge mega preview episode, so I knew back then, but I think the all the ah information I was putting out there scared Vance away.
00:38:44.03
Jaime G
Oh, well, hey, hey, hey, hey.
00:38:44.33
Tony Sisk
like Hey, what's what's the what's the code war?
00:38:46.01
Jaime G
Listeners, so
00:38:48.60
Tony Sisk
I don't know what this code war is.
00:38:50.35
Jaime G
to so tony Tony was sending us like, hey, read this essay.
00:38:59.61
Tony Sisk
Right?
00:38:59.92
Jaime G
about how beautiful this game is.
00:39:02.58
Tony Sisk
Right. Exactly. I mean, there's a lot of background for sure.
00:39:07.55
Jaime G
Yeah, of course.
00:39:09.09
Tony Sisk
We'll talk about it when we actually cover the game.
00:39:12.12
Jaime G
Yeah, um I'm
00:39:12.26
Tony Sisk
I'm going to rescind you guys all that info.
00:39:18.13
Jaime G
right before we started recording, I was in the process of pre-ordering my copy. Not that there's any interesting pre-order bonuses, but i've I've said this before through my work, we get like $100 voucher every quarter.
00:39:33.95
Jaime G
And I just got it like last night. So I'm like, if I don't pre order this now, I'll probably spend it on something. Then they'll be like, oh I got to pay out of pocket now.
00:39:43.72
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:39:43.90
Jaime G
um So I was about to order. We started recording. haven't done it, but I'll do it tonight.
00:39:50.70
Tony Sisk
All right. All right. Last topic, alien earth. So it's a new TV show from Hulu came out last week, dropped the first two episodes, uh,
00:40:01.11
Jaime G
Yep.
00:40:06.79
Tony Sisk
we're aliens fans uh if last year the alien romulus movie came out and yes it really really was a good movie and kind of brought alien back to the forefront of like okay this this can be entertaining because it a
00:40:14.11
Jaime G
Amazing movie.
00:40:17.26
Jaime G
Fantastic movie.
00:40:28.24
Jaime G
I actually, I think if that movie had flopped, Tony, like that would have been the final nail in the coffin for the whole Alien franchise after like those two pretty terrible ah movies that Ridley Scott tried to do.
00:40:44.89
Tony Sisk
right so um we have the new tv show uh on hulu yes i love the science of it um because it really covers some topics that we've actually talked about i think here on the podcast about uh trans not to give away too much spoilers or anything like that but like
00:40:49.78
Jaime G
Yep. Which is amazing. Mm-hmm.
00:41:09.25
Tony Sisk
the idea of transferring your consciousness to basically a robot and having like,
00:41:17.66
Jaime G
Well, I don't think it's a spoiler because the previews actually show you that.
00:41:22.96
Tony Sisk
yeah, that's true. So yeah. So yeah, basically the main character, I think she's the main character.
00:41:32.75
Jaime G
and' that's eat No, no, no. The Xenomorph is always the main character.
00:41:36.62
Tony Sisk
Well, but there's like five of those and they're different. So it's like five alien creatures like this spaceship crash lands on Earth.
00:41:44.28
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:41:45.17
Tony Sisk
And you're really getting some like. If you've ever watched any of the aliens movies, you're really getting some serious world building here because we're getting into like Earth and how it's divided by corporations in the future.
00:41:49.30
Jaime G
This is uncharted territory, by the way. Uh-huh.
00:42:01.58
Tony Sisk
um like the corporations actually you know the Elon Musk of the world actually have taken over and ruled the world basically and
00:42:09.25
Jaime G
and and And one of the corporations is Weyland-Yutani, which is the one that always comes up. Like in the last movie where they were the miners in this planet, asteroid, whatever, the company that was paying for all this was the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
00:42:15.70
Tony Sisk
right
00:42:27.39
Jaime G
So it's a staple in the series. Just go with it.
00:42:30.80
Tony Sisk
Yeah, it's always wailing.
00:42:31.30
Jaime G
But there's...
00:42:32.31
Tony Sisk
When it comes to aliens, always wailing your time.
00:42:32.79
Jaime G
Right. but But now there's another company in the mix.
00:42:34.62
Tony Sisk
And Predator too, probably.
00:42:37.02
Jaime G
i And I thought that was interesting. The fact that now, yeah.
00:42:39.56
Tony Sisk
Prodigy.
00:42:42.45
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:42:42.83
Jaime G
So so they they're they're taking a well-established lore and building upon it in a way that having a television medium where now you have episodes, you you're not confined to 120-minute runtime.
00:42:43.12
Tony Sisk
And it...
00:42:59.15
Jaime G
i
00:43:00.08
Tony Sisk
Mm-hmm.
00:43:00.20
Jaime G
allows them to really explore and evolve in ways that they haven't done before. it ah Maybe outside of comic books. I'm liking it so far.
00:43:08.51
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:43:13.50
Tony Sisk
Yeah. I mean, I really, um like I said, I really enjoy the science of it. Like you've, you've got these, you know, synthetic people and, and they explain like what like prodigy has got this secret experiment that they're running and with the sense and,
00:43:35.97
Tony Sisk
That the girl that you see in all the trailers and stuff, she's a synthetic human. she She used to be a human, but but had a terminal disease and they transferred her consciousness and her mind and her memories, everything over to
00:43:43.08
Jaime G
human but she had like some terminal disease
00:43:54.56
Tony Sisk
ah you know a synthetic body.
00:43:57.19
Jaime G
right now if you remember here for anybody who's listening to this you've always had ah what's the right the right name for them cyber robot
00:44:09.83
Tony Sisk
Cyborg cyborg.
00:44:11.23
Jaime G
I mean, if you remember the original movie, it was Bishop, right?
00:44:15.75
Tony Sisk
Right. Yeah.
00:44:16.08
Jaime G
If you remember the last movie, you know, standing great standout performance by Andy, right? But they're a robot.
00:44:26.51
Jaime G
They're following directives. They do what the program tells them to do.
00:44:31.40
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:44:31.86
Jaime G
But now this is the first time where they're introducing the fact that it's a robot with a human consciousness, human thoughts process, human, all that.
00:44:41.73
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:44:44.49
Tony Sisk
And they really they really did a good job, I thought, of explaining why it's been such a difficult thing to accomplish before.
00:44:44.78
Jaime G
So everything's not a one or zero now.
00:44:55.86
Tony Sisk
Right?
00:44:56.02
Jaime G
Mm-hmm.
00:44:56.39
Tony Sisk
like Because of people can't handle it. like the the The balance between the physiology or the chemistry and And not having those chemicals kind of like affect you, you know, ah will not affect you, but are working in in conjunction with your mind and stuff like a human body. The lack of that.
00:45:29.54
Tony Sisk
Adults can't handle. So.
00:45:31.25
Jaime G
Uh-huh.
00:45:32.77
Tony Sisk
So they did a really good job explaining why, you know, this particular girl was is able to, to function in this regard and why it's always been such a hurdle. And it's a top secret thing that they're doing that prodigy is doing.
00:45:46.44
Tony Sisk
And then they, you know, she has this whole backstory and then her brother, you know, is, you they, is involved and with like the rescue operation and The fact that like these guy this these people, these synths are kind of superhuman.
00:46:04.53
Tony Sisk
I like that. cause like It's cool because she can hear. has super sensitive hearing so she can hear.
00:46:13.71
Jaime G
Tony, she could hack she could hack in from trump from a tablet into like the video feed somewhere across the globe.
00:46:17.12
Tony Sisk
Yeah, she she was hacking the computer systems by just
00:46:27.80
Jaime G
i mean, they're kind of hinting at the processing capabilities that these synthetics can have.
00:46:28.24
Tony Sisk
ah
00:46:35.90
Jaime G
Right. And and she actually mentions in at some point in in one of the episodes, like, hey, we're so much stronger. We're so much faster. We don't get tired.
00:46:48.36
Jaime G
Right. So i was like, oh, OK, sign me up.
00:46:52.26
Tony Sisk
Yeah, I mean, they they have like bodies that are like you know made of whatever they're made of, but they are, like super like you said, super strong, super fast.
00:47:05.30
Tony Sisk
mean She can do anything she wants, really. and and
00:47:09.94
Jaime G
ah sir
00:47:10.89
Tony Sisk
super supercomputer for a brain but you know She has she has a child's brain, though. She has a child's maturity.
00:47:20.80
Jaime G
And that right there, that right there, I think is the interesting twist that at least for me, I'm hoping that they develop and, you know, have a good, you know, they play into that because this is the first time
00:47:36.50
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:47:39.86
Jaime G
Like, if you can look at Sigourney Weaver, the main character in the last Alien Romulus movie, ah it's always like this rough character that's like, yeah, I'm tough. I can take on an alien. Or maybe I don't think I'm tough, but I'm thrown into a situation where I'm going to survive and you know be the apex predator.
00:48:01.79
Jaime G
They're throwing kids into the mix now.
00:48:05.42
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
00:48:05.60
Jaime G
It's a, I'm say like a teenager, maybe not even a teenager. I'm like, don't they say like she was 11 when they did the ah transfer?
00:48:14.27
Tony Sisk
11, think. Yeah. 11 or 12, 12 at the most.
00:48:16.92
Jaime G
Right. Yeah. So, and now it's it's a kid who is able to, by, you know, twist of faith is like super strong, super smart.
00:48:30.46
Jaime G
but But in the behavior and everything that you see, they're still kids.
00:48:35.67
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:48:36.78
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:48:37.04
Tony Sisk
Yeah. And it's, yeah, it's interesting. It's, it's, it's, I'm,
00:48:44.52
Tony Sisk
It's like the the real story is about her and the other kids. And then you just throw an alien in there two as a backdrop.
00:48:54.26
Jaime G
But... But... but but
00:48:55.62
Tony Sisk
You know what saying? But the alien is still...
00:48:56.09
Jaime G
but
00:48:58.70
Jaime G
but it But if I can, this is the other plot twist that I'm hoping that the show develops a bit more.
00:49:10.48
Jaime G
Every single time we've seen an alien movie, except Alien vs. Predators, um It's just a xenomorph. Here, the plot line is they came up with like so five or six samples from space or other planets, and they're bringing them back for you know analysis to create the super soldier. I don't know.
00:49:31.77
Jaime G
One of them is a xenomorph. But they say that it's more than one. And in the two episodes we've seen, you've already seen two of them. One of them kind of did freak me out.
00:49:44.82
Jaime G
um so there was like ah for a bit there yeah dude that one that one dude i mean let's again family show we can't get into details it's a bit it's a bit gory um but there was for a while tony some early speculation that hey one of the other sample specimens is going to be a predator
00:49:47.62
Tony Sisk
The one with the cat.
00:50:10.78
Jaime G
and and i was and the And people are like quickly like, no, no, no, not going to happen. um
00:50:16.19
Tony Sisk
Yeah, well, I mean, they would have to capture a predator.
00:50:19.87
Jaime G
Well, they captured as anamorph or the the eggs, right?
00:50:22.35
Tony Sisk
That's true. that's and And they reference that in the show. They're like, man, it took a lot of dudes to take down the capture of a xenomorph.
00:50:28.46
Jaime G
Exactly. Yeah. so so So at some point, these specimens are going to cross paths. They have to.
00:50:38.26
Tony Sisk
Yeah. Yeah.
00:50:39.61
Jaime G
so So the fact is that it's not just the alien that's coming into play. It's the other samples. It's the aesthetics. It's the sibling a relationship.
00:50:51.51
Jaime G
It's the fact that you're you're trying to get b be alive at the end of the show. There's a lot going on.
00:50:56.91
Tony Sisk
right Yeah.
00:50:58.07
Jaime G
And I think this is a great story to tell that only could have worked in television the way that they're they're trying to do this.
00:51:10.14
Tony Sisk
So, yeah, I mean, I i enjoyed the first two um
00:51:16.05
Tony Sisk
episodes that already dropped, so I'm looking forward to the next one to see how things are playing out with our or childlike synths and The fact that like even though like they're not supposed to have like fear because they don't have the chemical reaction in their bodies that creates fear, they still have fear.
00:51:39.13
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:51:42.25
Tony Sisk
ah like the one
00:51:42.30
Jaime G
Because they're kids, dude.
00:51:44.17
Tony Sisk
They're kids, right? like They're still scared of monsters. So even though they don't have the chemical reaction, like the show tries to say, oh, they don't have fear because there's no chemical reaction. It creates fear.
00:51:56.78
Tony Sisk
their kids, they still have fear.
00:51:58.57
Jaime G
Yeah. Yeah.
00:52:00.13
Tony Sisk
which see Which is funny, even though they're like they're in they're they're like superhuman. like They were even talking about, like we can't die ah natural death, but we could be squished, or we could blow up, or we could...
00:52:13.45
Tony Sisk
you yeah but like
00:52:13.68
Jaime G
or our battery could run down in like 100 years.
00:52:18.36
Tony Sisk
Yeah. so There's still fear there. It's funny. like ah it's it's like It's that thing where science always has the answer to something.
00:52:28.73
Jaime G
yeah
00:52:29.29
Tony Sisk
Like, oh, that doesn't work that way because science says it doesn't work that way. But then like when the when the tire meets the road, it no, that's not how it works at all.
00:52:41.77
Jaime G
Dude, there's a lot of things and in the two episodes that we've seen that that's not how it works at all.
00:52:41.98
Tony Sisk
yeah
00:52:47.10
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:52:47.92
Jaime G
Now, can I say, can there's two things in this show. Now, I do want to, this is the last thing I'm going to say about this. And, you know, I've shared my piece. One, there's there's one scene I'm not going to bring up.
00:53:00.84
Jaime G
Tony and I, you you and I spoke to this before we started recording, but there's something that was super graphic, but at the same time, super dumb if you think about it.
00:53:13.97
Jaime G
Everyone, when you get to to episode two, again, family show, can't get into the details. my wife was walking into the room while I was watching this and she's like, what are you watching?
00:53:29.21
Jaime G
And I'm like, oh, it's, you know, the, the, the alien thing. And she's like, she's like, i have to go. My stomach is getting kind of upset. And, and I'm like, yo, come on.
00:53:40.27
Jaime G
But anyway, the other thing that I can't talk about, which I thought was so dumb, Tony, is the fact that whenever, whenever the the team is like, Let's go. Let's go save people.
00:53:52.26
Jaime G
Yeah. The main character, she's looking for a weapon.
00:53:59.22
Tony Sisk
First of all, why why is she needing a weapon? Like, why what made her think that, why yeah, she is a weapon, but why does she think she needed a weapon?
00:54:02.98
Jaime G
She is the weapon.
00:54:09.45
Jaime G
she's a kid.
00:54:09.61
Tony Sisk
There was nothing that she saw that said that she needed a weapon. I guess heroes need weapons, right?
00:54:13.34
Jaime G
She's a kid. She wants to be the hero.
00:54:15.62
Tony Sisk
She saw herself as a hero, and heroes need weapons.
00:54:15.79
Jaime G
Right? Yeah. Yeah. but But she grabs a paper cutter. or What's the right name for these things? It's a paper cutter.
00:54:24.55
Tony Sisk
It's, ah yeah, yeah, it's the paper, the thing you pull down, the cut paper, I can't remember what called.
00:54:29.64
Jaime G
Yeah, it has the handle. you know You put a sheet of paper, you pull the handle down, cut. Anyway, she manages to like take it off perfectly.
00:54:41.32
Jaime G
Somehow she touches her back and the thing is like now magically suspended from her back.
00:54:47.57
Tony Sisk
I wondered about that, I'm like... How does this stay into her back? Like, is it, is she like magnetic?
00:54:55.91
Jaime G
Right? and and And then, this is a paper cutter, Tony. And the next shot, it's like a perfectly fashioned katana.
00:55:07.94
Tony Sisk
Right. Yeah. It looks like a sword.
00:55:10.28
Jaime G
Yeah. Yeah. And then, latin you know, the thing that I'm like, you know, they all come in and they're like, We're emergency response teams. I mean, there's like SWAT people trying to do things. They've got machine guns and whatever.
00:55:25.88
Jaime G
They're like, we're emergency response. We're here to help. And nobody's wondering like, yo, there's a girl with a random katana that's just magically floating on her back.
00:55:37.39
Jaime G
That's an interesting response team.
00:55:39.88
Tony Sisk
Well, I mean, the one guy was like, we're a prodigy, you know? We work for the man.
00:55:46.24
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:55:48.30
Tony Sisk
Like, that's all you had to say. It's like, we work for the boss.
00:55:50.89
Jaime G
We work for Elon Musk.
00:55:52.58
Tony Sisk
Yeah, and everybody's like, oh, okay.
00:55:55.06
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:55:55.06
Tony Sisk
You can pass. You can do whatever you want.
00:55:56.82
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:55:56.89
Tony Sisk
We're doge.
00:55:58.18
Jaime G
and
00:56:00.87
Tony Sisk
We're doge.
00:56:00.99
Jaime G
He's chill.
00:56:02.10
Tony Sisk
We're doge.
00:56:05.38
Jaime G
but But you know what, Tony? In what I've seen, I mean, obviously, every time you see a sci-fi show, you kind of have to turn off reason for a couple of minutes um as you're watching these television shows or movies.
00:56:18.51
Jaime G
I have so thoroughly enjoyed this. I hope it doesn't crash and burn.
00:56:28.08
Jaime G
ah no But it's it's off to an amazing start.
00:56:30.91
Tony Sisk
That's the thing about aliens alien movies. ah It's like, okay, when do we get to the point where it just crashes and burns?
00:56:38.44
Jaime G
Yes, right?
00:56:38.46
Tony Sisk
Because, you know, it's like... In Romulus, it never happened, but you know most of you just like, okay, once it go off the rails.
00:56:47.30
Jaime G
It's going to get cheesy soon, right?
00:56:51.01
Tony Sisk
um But I'm also looking very forward to, i think November, it might be October, when Predator Badlands drops. Because, you know, Predator and Alien are in the same universe.
00:57:02.96
Jaime G
they do They are. Yep.
00:57:04.43
Tony Sisk
Yes. Yes.
00:57:05.11
Jaime G
It was established first in the second Predator movie with Danny Glover. where There's one scene where he goes into like the spaceship and there's like a xenomorph skull in there.
00:57:17.32
Tony Sisk
Right. So the trailers for Predator Badlands are amazing. So ah hopefully the movie can live up to it.
00:57:25.28
Jaime G
have you seen Have you seen the one where the synthetic or the cyborg is all chipper, like, oh, well, I'm on my way. She's like, oh.
00:57:33.29
Tony Sisk
Yeah, because he's like, i can we can help each other. And he drops her. And then she's like, well, you'll have a good day. ah makes week
00:57:41.98
Jaime G
I don't have any legs.
00:57:43.92
Tony Sisk
She has no legs. She's been ripped in half. And she's still like, you know, I'm just going to go for a stroll.
00:57:46.67
Jaime G
ah but
00:57:52.23
Jaime G
Yeah, right.
00:57:52.74
Tony Sisk
It makes me wonder, like, at what time period is it?
00:57:54.19
Jaime G
She's so chipper.
00:57:55.74
Tony Sisk
Yeah. At what point is she really? is she a synthetic? like one of these kids are in the show? Or she a cyborg?
00:58:03.47
Jaime G
Oh.
00:58:04.27
Tony Sisk
Like, have they established that?
00:58:06.40
Jaime G
Do you know what, Tony?
00:58:06.76
Tony Sisk
Because she seems to have a personality. Most of the cyborgs don't have, like... Well, I mean, they do, but they don't.
00:58:12.70
Jaime G
No.
00:58:14.52
Tony Sisk
You they're very kind of stale.
00:58:16.15
Jaime G
No, the only one that had it was Andy, and that was because he'd been hacked.
00:58:21.11
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:58:22.70
Jaime G
um
00:58:23.03
Tony Sisk
But she she seemed to have more of a human-like personality, so...
00:58:23.58
Jaime G
But you know what?
00:58:26.86
Jaime G
and imagine Imagine the possibility if somehow they were to play off the TV show and like somehow one of the cyborgs or whatever ends up but doing the crossover into the movie.
00:58:41.09
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:58:42.13
Jaime G
Mind-blown moment right there.
00:58:43.17
Tony Sisk
Like windy.
00:58:45.49
Jaime G
Yeah.
00:58:46.20
Tony Sisk
Like we see windy. That'd be pretty crazy.
00:58:48.15
Jaime G
Yeah, Absolutely.
00:58:51.51
Jaime G
I mean, it would like, you know, the whole internet would go crazy about the potential for like an Alien vs. Predator 3 movie coming up.
00:59:00.22
Tony Sisk
Right.
00:59:03.56
Tony Sisk
Yeah. All right. Well, the so I got...
00:59:10.16
Jaime G
Alien Earth, certified fresh.
00:59:11.54
Tony Sisk
Alien Earth.
00:59:11.88
Jaime G
Check it out.
00:59:13.01
Tony Sisk
Yep. That's a good one. Alright. Well, thanks. ah thanks That was a good long episode. shes Talking about betas and Alien Earth. Okay.
00:59:23.21
Jaime G
All right.
00:59:24.91
Tony Sisk

00:59:39.01

01:00:05.20
Jaime G
out too Dude, um if you're watching me, I'm like just like gasping right now because I just realized this 150.
01:00:05.26
Tony Sisk
um
01:00:12.93
Tony Sisk
oops
01:00:14.78
Jaime G
This was 150, Tony.
01:00:17.00
Tony Sisk
Yeah.
01:00:18.09
Jaime G
And and you know we do need the support because our producer, Vance, we can't afford him anymore.
01:00:25.56
Jaime G
That's what's Tony and me. No, I'm just kidding.
01:00:27.35
Tony Sisk
right All right.
01:00:31.80
Tony Sisk
I'll catch you guys later.
01:00:33.57
Jaime G
see yeah.
01:00:34.76
Tony Sisk
Bye.
01:00:36.04
Jaime G
Yeah.
